slammed!

I had a super busy weekend...Saturday was spent at our engagement photo shoot and making some new pieces, Sunday was house tours, today is busy because I'm starting a new role at work! I listed a couple pieces, one new, one oldish (but new pics, cuz it's slightly different than the last one!)













I came across this shop today and I *LOVE* this piece by Laurel Hill. It's kind of like a metal tattoo. This shop has serious cool factor. I love her etching and ...well just everything. I am coveting this piece:

I posted a new item of mine last night! I have a few more to post, one which I adore - though I'm not sure it photographed very well :( You'll have to let me know once I post it. Anyway, here's a piece my sister named :) I'm kind of going off an art theme lately.

Hiccup!

I almost forgot to write up the post I started because I got distracted by beautiful Etsy items! And now I have hiccups. Hiccup!

I uploaded a goooooorgeous new piece today, I love this! It's very delicate. I named it Grace, after Grace Kelly, because it reminds me of something she might wear.

I love Jennifer Gibbs' art, it's mixed media, and it's all so unique! It looks like the type of work an interior designer would love to feature all around a showcase home, it would suit all sorts of styles. Plus, I love that she donates a percentage of her profits to charity. That's always a plus for me in supporting the arts.

Monday Monday

I didn't get a chance to upload on Saturday because I was busy busy, but I did make a whole bunch of new pieces and a really cute purse from a pattern by Keyka Lou.

I made the purse out of scraps I have from fabric samples back when I worked in interior design






I think it came out pretty cute! I also made a necklace for my wedding, which I'm really excited about. My first experiment really mixing up chains. Please excuse the crappy quality - I have no light in my office and I finished this late last night.










Anyhow - this week is Bird week!

I love birds as a print, though I'm not really a bird person as far as the actual animal, they certainly are pretty.

I love OIive's shop. It's often on the front page for a reason - her stuff is cute without being cutesy, and fun and retro, but still modern.

When I was a kid, my very crafty aunt used to send me letters with lots of confetti and embossed stamps and everything and I loved opening them because they always seemed like little gifts. This confetti would be so much fun to receive in a letter, I think I'd save it all and keep sending it on to my friends.

Sleepy Thursday

Happy Thursday!

I'm sleepy today, but I managed to post a new item - my very first bracelet! It's super cute as is, but it'd make a perfect charm bracelet. The green ribbon totally reminds me of a vine flowing up to the flower clasp. It probably looks bigger than it is because I have really tiny wrists :)










Item of the day!

This mask by Columbina is a gorgeous iridescent, exotic butterfly that's hand studded. This would be a perfect addition to any costume, or paired with some fairy wings, would make a gorgeous costume on it's own!

This week is costume week, and TotusMel has some incredibly pretty lacy masks up right now that would look amazing at a masquerade party. Just look how lovely this is.

Saturdays are busy!

I love streaming tv on the internet! I've been watching tv shows I missed or from channels I don't get when work is slow or during my homework upload. We went to the L.A. County Fair today, it was HUGE, not to mention hot, but fun nonetheless :)

I posted another new item yesterday - finishing up my week. Unfortunately, I forgot my jewelry equipment at work, so I won't be making anything new this weekend - though I've got lots of homework, so it'd be unlikely anyhow. I love lemonade, especially when it's icy, and this piece reminds me of freshly squeezed lemonade, so that's what I named it!














Art of the day!

I love Bird Nerd's shop because I'm a bird nerd myself - I even have 2 tattoos of birds. So of course I love her stuff. I also love how she combines textures and colours - it's so bold!

TGIF!

Yesterday I listed a new item I made from a pendant I've had since college. I love the center stone in this piece, it's absolutely gorgeous shades of blues and whites - a perfect example of moonstone! It sort of reminds me of Halloween because of the black chain and the full moony shape.

For some reason this reminds me of Shel Silverstein and The Missing Piece or a balcony in Beverly Hills, overlooking the city and the ocean. Anyway, Mary Ann Wakeley has some gorgeous abstract pieces. This one is called "Abstract Days"

New Series and organization!

I decided to actually start ORGANIZING my blog (it's a crazy idea, right?) so I'm trying to do some theme weeks, promos, and interviews. I've just started an interview series and we'll be featuring 1 per week. This week's theme (I started on Tuesday) is paintings :)

I'm also super excited because I ordered some Moo cards yesterday! I was going to order regular business cards because they're cheaper, but I figure the oddly shaped Moo cards will get more people to pick them up because they look different. I'm really stepping up the promotions game.

AND! I made my second sale! A PIF of a shop logo. I love the PIF (Pay it Forward) concept. I listed another necklace I made this week - I'm not sure about the name - I think that'll be related to my contest this week ;)

I love love looooove(!) this painting by Michelle Daisley Moffitt. It's called 'Out to Sea' and it's absolutely gorgeous, not to mention incredibly affordable!! Her shop is full of beautiful abstract pieces, so check it out!

EXCITED!

I decided to list Sunrise over Paris today because I'm wearing my own version and I love it so much! I really love this piece. I've also decided I'm going to start a new promo this week - so keep an eye out! The article about Nicole at lillyella really inspired me, so hopefully some of her ideas will help my shop take off :) I'm also trying to space out my listings a bit to get a more diverse viewing group.

Monday monday

This weekend was busy as usual - I photographed 6 of my pieces and made 2 more to photograph later. I'll be posting the 6 from this week throughout the week. I'm also really happy, my first sale was a success! She liked all 3 of my first designs so I really didn't have to recreate anything at all! Here's hoping it leads to more successful sales :)

find of the day:
We went shopping this weekend for replacement vacuum bits and wound up picking up some extra plates - Target has some incredibly nice stuff for cheap! We got a bowl (they only had one left) and a set of salad plates for around 12 dollars in this pattern - which goes perfectly with everything else we've got.

Busy Weekend!

This weekend was busy busy! I photographed 2 pieces that I'll be putting up later this week, and I beat my goal of 2 new pieces a week - I managed to make 4 new pieces this week! Generally I don't have a chance to photograph these during the week because I try to get my pictures in natural light and there is not a day of the week where I get home before dark. I'm really excited about a few of the pieces that will be going up. I'm posting my first painting, and I tried a few new techniques for jewelry this time around. One of the pieces I love so much, I'm gonna have to make one for myself ;)
